I am a memoirist. I write about food (mostly plantain), twinship, intercultural and interracial relationships and motherhood. I studied creative nonfiction in the University of Southern California's Master of Professional Writing program. My writing has appeared in publications such as Epicurious, TASTE, The Counter, Cuisine Noir, Stained Page Newsletter, Eaten, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, the James Beard Foundation blog, and Harvard Review Online. I currently teach writing and food memoir at Otis College of Art & Design. I was a 2022 - 2023 Legacy Network Advisee for the James Beard Foundation and a 2023 Winner of an IACP Food Writing Award.
